Arijit Singh may have won laurels from across the world
for his singing, but his fine tunes will perhaps never be music to Salman
Khan’s ears.
Salman Khan and Arijit had a bitter altercation during an
awards show being hosted by Salman.Since then the superstar has had a No-Arijit
Singh-In-My-Films rule.
Kick (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Prem Ratan Dhan
Payo (2015), Sultan (2016), Tubelight (2017), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and now,
Welcome To New York – Salman has managed to get Arijit out from his films, one
kick at a time.
Salman Khan
Even though Salman is doing just a guest appearance in
Welcome To New York, he made sure that Arijit wasn’t singing a song in the
movie. He got Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to sing the song, for which Arijit had
initially sung the scratch version.
A source close to the film, on grounds of anonymity,
exclusively told SpotboyE.com, “Arijit has sung the rough scratch of the track
which was to be used in the film. However, Salman was quite miffed and he told
the makers, “Anyone in the fraternity could croon the track but Arijit.” The
makers had a few singers in mind out of which they zeroed in on Rahat.”
Arijit Singh
If we recall back in 2016, Arijit had written an open
letter on Facebook where he had profusely apologized to Salman for the incident
which happened way back in 2013. Arijit requested Salman to allow his version
of Jag Ghoomeya to be retained in the music album of Sultan.
However, all his pleas fell on deaf ears as Salman got
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to croon that track and what a huge hit it became!
Welcome To New York Poster
All we can say is that it would take a miracle to get
Salman finally forgive Arijit!
